Alright, thank you very much, and hello again dear radio friends. How in the world are you? Aren’t you glad you can be in the world but not of it? That’s the basis of the little greeting that marks these broadcasts, and this is your friend, Dr. Cook, and I’m glad, so glad and grateful for the privilege of being back with you once again. I look forward to these times together, don’t you? Sharing from God’s Word does something to satisfy my own heart’s hunger and I think maybe that’s why I’m so grateful to the Lord for giving me these opportunities to share with you.

We’ve been hitting the high spots in Philippians, just as a break in between our study of the book of Mark, and we’re in chapter 4. We’ll soon finish it up then we’ll go back to Mark again, beginning with chapter 10.

He says, “Not that I speak in respect of want for I have learned in whatsoever state”, that means condition, “I am therewith”, to be content, “I know both how to be abased and I know how to abound, everywhere and in all things I’m instructed, both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need, I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me”. Now, you look at the life of the apostle Paul and see what he’s saying here. I’ve learned to be content. I had, I know how to be abased or to abound. I am instructed, both to be full or to suffer need.

Does this give you any kind of a clue as to how God deals with you and with me? I I think it may if we just stop to think about it for a moment. He says, “I have learned”. I have learned, I’ve been taught, as a as a child is taught and then he says, “I know how”, and then he says, “I can”. Think about that in your own, in your own life. Do you have a process, beloved, of learning in your life? Well, I think that’s important, really I do. To know, to learn, to be instructed, to be led, to be discipled by the blessed, indwelling Holy Spirit in your reactions to everyday living.

Isaiah 55:11:
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”
