Are your Etsy listing descriptions written in a way to help you show up in search results? #shorts

Previously, Etsy said the algorithm did not look in the product description when deciding what to show in search results.

We still put relevant keywords in our descriptions because third-party search engines, like Google, still looked there for their search results.

A couple of months ago Etsy put out a podcast episode talking about how to optimize your listings for search results and in that podcast they shared that Etsy’s algorithm IS now looking through product descriptions for search result juice.

This means we need to be more mindful about using our keywords inside our product description as well as the title and tags portion of your listing.

Here are some quick tips to help you show up in searching through your product listing description

- Try to incorporate your most relevant keywords in the first few sentences of your listing descriptions

- Avoid copying your title word for word or simply listing out your top keywords. You want to write sentences that casually incorporate a few of your top keywords in a way that sounds human and natural.

- Remember to experiment with different phrasing over time and keep your listings fresh and up to date.
