When social workers forget to inform the child that they are moving foster homes. #policy #children

Here I talk about being moved from my foster parents by social workers with less than 24 hours notice. I'd actually been quite settled and happy with Hazel and Gordon who I talk about in one of the poems/stories in my book.

I guess the main message here is that you need not ask just once, but twice, three times or more to ensure that the child and young person moving home knows exactly what's going on. Perhaps the affect this has on children in foster care has effects we still haven't figured out yet, and who knows how much that fact alone had contribute towards me running away and going missing again.

I'd like to think that this sort of practice is no longer a policy within social work, but no doubt it still goes on. Hopefully some social workers see this and double check that this isn't happening to a child in care that they know.

Thanks for reading. Peace.
