3 Lessons I Learned From Writing My Book

I can't believe it's over. Here are three lessons that I learned from writing my book, the Roofing Sales Survival Guide. How to Beat the Odds, Overcome Yourself, and Win Big. Lesson number one. There are things that we love in life, like writing a book, for example, but sometimes the act of doing them really sucks.

Similar to going out for a run, which I love trail running in the mountains. But some days running sucks or getting started sucks. And so does having writer's block or feeling like you can't get your thoughts out. Lesson number two, things take a whole lot longer than we expect, hope or even plan for.

And I expected this book to get cranked out in four months, and I realized I was rushing it at the sacrifice of quality and I actually slowed it down and took 10 months. And now I'm super proud of how it came out in lesson number three. I thought I'd be so excited at the finish line. But the beauty was in the process, not the outcome.

The outcome is there, and it's a gift to the world, but the beautiful part was going through it, and I loved it.
