Gov. DeSantis lauds Florida’s new ‘heartbeat bill’ at Faith and Freedom Coalition event

Governor Ron DeSantis highlighted Florida’s newest pro-life legislation during a speech at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s 2023 policy conference in Washington Friday. The 2024 Republican presidential candidate signed the Heartbeat Protection Act into law in April, limiting abortions once an unborn child’s heartbeat is detected. “It was the right thing to do. Don’t let anyone tell you it wasn’t,” said Gov. DeSantis.
