About Today's Guest: Pat Robertson
Pat Robertson was a renowned religious broadcast pioneer, philanthropist, educator, author and TV host. He was the founder and chairman of the Christian Broadcasting Network, whose flagship program, The 700 Club, is one of the longest-running television programs in U.S. history. Pat also founded Regent University, Operation Blessing, The American Center for Law and Justice, and many other organizations. Robertson graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University, a master of divinity from New York Theological Seminary, and a law degree from Yale University. He ran for President of the United States as a Republican in 1988. Although he did not receive his party’s nomination, his campaign was successful in encouraging millions of Christians to engage in the electoral process. Pat authored 21 books including "The New World Order," "The Secret Kingdom," and "The Power of the Holy Spirit." He went home to be with the Lord on June 8, 2023, to join wife, Dede, who preceded him in April of 2022. Pat and Dede are survived by their four children, 14 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
