Uber passenger shoots driver, thought she was being kidnapped and taken to Mexico

Following a distressing incident, a man from Texas is currently in critical condition after being shot while working as an Uber driver.

According to the police, the woman accused of shooting the 52-year-old victim, Daniel Piedra Garcia, claimed that she believed he was attempting to kidnap her.

Surprisingly, instead of notifying the authorities, she initially contacted her boyfriend, as revealed in court documents, KGNS TV NEWS reported.

Didi Lopez, the niece of the victim, expressed the family’s disbelief over the incident, stating, “We had seen news stories, but it never even crossed our minds that it would be him.”
