Former OceanGate subcontractor says Titan sub design choices were ‘controversial’

Doug Virnig, a former subcontractor who worked on developing OceanGate’s Titan, told CNN Wednesday that several of the missing submersible’s design choices were considered “fairly experimental” or “controversial.” The U.S. Coast Guard announced Thursday afternoon that it believes the Titanic-bound submersible that lost communication Sunday morning imploded, killing all five people on board.
