Inside the missing Titanic Submersible ‘Titan’ and the five passengers aboard

#TODAY/ #ABC7- #BREAKINGNEWS📢 Titanic sub passengers "have sadly been lost," after experiencing ‘’Catastrophic Implosion’’-The lost sub ‘#Titan’ that was carrying five people onboard to tour to the #Titanic wreckage includes, Stockton Rush, the founder of #OceanGate Expeditions, a highly experienced former French navy commander, Paul Henry Nargeolet, British billionaire adventurer Hamish Harding, and Pakistani industrialist Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son, Suleman.
The tour travels more than 12,500 feet below the ocean’s surface at a cost of $250,000 per person.
Titan submersible watercraft  leaves with about a 96-hour supply of breathable air for a crew of five.
According to the OceanGate website, Titan has an interior space about the size of a mini-van. It measures about 8 feet wide, 9 feet high, 22 feet long and weighs 25,000 pounds. It is operated with a PlayStation video controller that includes a Logitech F710 Wireless PC Gamepad. Submersibles are dependent on a support ship that can launch and recover them, unlike #submarines. Titan tours for about 10 to 11 hours during each trip to the Titanic wreck. Titan is secured from the outside with 17 bolts, making it impossible to exit without exterior assistance.
It fits one pilot and four crewmembers. Shoes are removed before boarding as occupants sit cross legged on the vessels floor. A snack, and/or a beverage with a sandwich is brought for the tour. A small toilet is the only seated area which is made private with the use of a curtain.
Stockton Rush, the CEO of OceanGate is known to be an adventurer and risk taker.
While interviewing with journalist David Pogue last year, he’s quoted saying “At some point, safety just is pure waste,”I mean, if you just want to be safe, don’t get out of bed. Don’t get in your car. Don’t do anything.”
The US Coast Guard Stated that the banging noises heard during the search remains unidentified as ships and experts from across the world are now helping with search efforts for the missing Titan submersible.
