Forming up the Mono Slab Footers Garage Build diy EP 5

Forming up the footers for the 16 inch thickened perimeter edge concrete floor mono slab for the diy garage shop build. A monolithic slab is a single continuous slab of concrete that is poured at the same time as your floor. You can use mono slab ez form if you want which is fast once leveled but it's very pricey, so I decided to just use 2x10 and 2x6 that I will reuse later in the build. I used my original string lines that I set up from the start and double checked my measurements before starting. I got my elevations with the laser level but the strings kept me in place for sideways.
My advice make sure to have a good laser transit to keep track of your elevations as you go. If you have to rent it a number of times it' may be worth just buying one, it was for me. I'm really happy with the accuracy of the one I have and will link it below.

This is a new series on my diy 32 x 56 garage - shop build. I want to show you how to start building a garage or shop from the very start of just having a empty lot. Watch for future videos on this build.
