The largest air exercise organised since the establishment of NATO has come to an end.
More than 250 aircraft and more than 10 thousand airmen from 25 countries, including Turkey, participated in the "Air Defender 2023", which is hosted by Germany and will end tomorrow.
Three F-16 aircraft of the Turkish Air Force took part in the exercise, while Sweden and Japan were the two non-NATO countries.
About 110 aircraft from the USA alone arrived in Germany for the exercise in Germany and the North Sea airspace. American aircraft took off from 35 different states of the country. They brought more than 380 tonnes of military equipment to Europe.
The aircraft that crossed the Atlantic Ocean and landed at bases in Germany included 80 aircraft from NATO countries and 60 from international partners. During the air manoeuvres, the aircraft made more than 1200 sorties.
While there were many elements such as transport aircraft, reconnaissance and surveillance aircraft, helicopters, as well as fighter jets, jets such as F-35, Eurofighter, F-18, F-16, A-10, Gripen performed various missions.
