A lot of people don’t want their names to be attached to a failing company. But not Hubert Joly, former chairman and CEO of Best Buy.

Hubert initially felt uncertain about taking the role as CEO because of his lack of knowledge in retail and the company's disarray.

However, after conducting thorough research for two months, he believed Best Buy had a critical role to play in providing a service to customers and vendors by showcasing tech products in stores.

Hubert was confident that Best Buy could turn things around and wrote an 8-page memo outlining his plans to do so.

Despite the challenges, Joly pursued his vision of Best Buy's potential in the retail industry.
