Five aboard missing submarine no longer alive- fear report

It is feared that all five aboard the missing submarine in the depths of the Atlantic Ocean may have died by now. In the meantime they may die from lack of oxygen as well as hypothermia or carbon dioxide poisoning.

Andy Coles, former commanding officer of the submarine, said this fear. He said that even if there is 96 hours of oxygen reserves, the passengers of that submersible may die already.

The vehicle, which went missing on Sunday with five passengers, is expected to have enough oxygen left to last until noon local time on Thursday. But former commanding officer Andy Coles said the passengers may have already died of hypothermia or carbon dioxide poisoning. Meanwhile, the rescue operation has reached critical stage. Andy Coles also mentioned that it may take a long time to rescue the submarine with its passengers.
I don't think the submarine has any carbon dioxide purification and air recirculation systems, he told British newspaper The Mirror.

So they probably passed out asleep or unconscious before they were completely suffocated. Another thing to consider is that the ocean floor below 3,800 meters is incredibly cold. They probably didn't get any power and light there. Because if the craft had any mechanical power they would have tried to rise to the surface of the ocean.
