THE FIVE SOLDIERS-GOD'S GIFT OF THE FIVE SENSES

Today's thought is a simple one concerning the gifts of God He has given us in our five senses. It's very common for us to take for granted things in our life we use every day, not appreciating the importance of each of them.
Each of us was created with five soldiers, which I'm referring to as the five senses God gave us to navigate this world, like soldiers on guard and with a command to defend, guide, and supply what is needed for life and safety.
Each of these five soldiers has an exceptional talent designed by God to supply you with all you need to fulfill your destiny.
As it is with everything, God creates, it has multiple functions. The five senses can give out, and they can receive. They guard us and give us pleasure so that we may enjoy the world that God has created for us to live in.
For instance, the sense of smell. God gave that to us to enjoy the world around us, from a walk through the forest to the joy of sweet perfume.
The sense of hearing gives us protection from approaching danger, the joy of beautiful music, and the sweet sounds of cooing babies.
The sense of sight brings to our soul the colorful beauty of gods creation, yet also helps us identify things in life that would harm us.
It's also important to remember that God has given our spiritual man the same five senses or five soldiers.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:15 he that has ears to hear, let him hear. He was not talking about physical ears because everyone has them. He was referring to that ear of the spirit we hear God with.
In second Kings 6:17, the prophet Elisha asks the Lord to open his servant's eyes so that he may see the horses and chariots of God's army around them.
Here again, we have a witness that these five soldiers, whom we see and experience in physical life, with also part of our spiritual life.
Think about the grace of God to you as you journey through this day that God has given you so many beautiful gifts to succeed with.
