Special Counsel Durham at center of political clash as he appears before Congress

The congressional committee witnessed a fiery political clash as John Durham, the special counsel appointed by the Justice Department to investigate the FBI’s inquiry into Russia’s ties with Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign, testified on Wednesday.

Democrats criticized Durham’s investigation, while Republicans argued that his findings provided evidence of an anti-Trump bias within law enforcement, the Associated Press has reported.

The hearing, held against the backdrop of a 37-count indictment against Trump for illegally retaining classified documents, lasted for approximately six hours but yielded little new information.
