If the Gun Culture of the 1990's had a mythology to be described by the mainstream media, it would be centered around an approaching apocalypse. But for most historical mythologies, apocalypse referenced a conclusion of the knowable timeline. Jack Donovan has written extensively about masculinity and violence long before words like "manosphere" reached the internet.
