Adventures in Youthful Makeup: Exploring My Beauty Journey Through My Glamorous Past.
During my makeup journey, I made several mistakes that hindered my progress and understanding of the art. Firstly, one major mistake was not investing in good quality brushes and tools. I often opted for cheaper options, which resulted in poor application and uneven blending. This lack of quality tools affected the overall outcome of my makeup looks.
Another mistake I made was underestimating the importance of skincare before applying makeup. I would often neglect my skincare routine, which led to the makeup looking patchy and uneven on my skin. Ignoring the need for a well-prepped canvas not only affected the overall appearance but also created a barrier for achieving long-lasting makeup.
Furthermore, I made the mistake of not properly matching my foundation shade to my skin tone. This error resulted in a stark contrast between my face and neck, making it obvious that I was wearing makeup. Finding the right shade to seamlessly blend with my natural skin tone is essential for a flawless and natural look.
Additionally, I often fell into the trap of following trends blindly without considering my facial features and complexion. This lack of awareness of my own unique features led to trying out looks that did not flatter me, making me appear unnatural and mismatched.
Lastly, I would occasionally rush through my makeup routine, which resulted in sloppy application and uneven distribution of products. Taking the time to properly blend, contour, and highlight is crucial to achieving a polished and well-executed makeup look.
In summary, my makeup journey has been a learning experience filled with mistakes. However, recognizing these mistakes and taking the time to rectify them has significantly improved my understanding and application of makeup. It is important to invest in quality tools, prioritize skincare, match foundation shades correctly, consider personal features, and take the time to create a meticulously executed look.
Some of these throwback makeup looks were deplorable to say the least. Thankfully I took the time to learn the proper way to do makeup effectively.
Side note: I initially recorded myself doing this makeup look you see here. But it was too long. Even with all the editing it was still very long. So I just trashed it. But I will tell you the products I used to create this look.
