Reel 1, draftees are examined, inoculated, issued clothing, and taught to salute. Shows Gen. Glenn and other divisional officers. Reel 2, soldiers box and play baseball and football. Supplies are unloaded from trucks and from the camp railroad train. Bakers mix dough and bake bread. Beeves are inspected at a cold-storage plant and trucks loaded with meat. A meal is prepared and troops eat. Reel 3, soldiers and women wash and iron clothes at a post laundry. A road route is surveyed. X-rays are taken, developed, and analyzed. Soldiers are examined and convalesce in the base hospital. An airplane lands and takes off. A tank pulls trucks. Shows the camp switchboard and post office in operation. Reel 4, the post fire department answers an alert. Johnny Kilbane gives boxing instructions. Troops storm emplacements and bayonet dummies. Field artillery pieces are moved into position. French officers demonstrate operation of the Chauchat machine gun. Troops drill and throw hand grenades. Reel 5, trench mortars are set up and fired. Shows a gas drill. Gens. Glenn and Chamberlain and Asst. Sec. of War Croweel review a division parade. Trenches are constructed. Reel 6, trench walls are strengthened with wire and sandbags. Troops eat in the field. Gen. Glenn talks to Y.M.C.A. personnel. Men read, write letters, eat cake, box, and dance at the camp Y.M.C.A., the Jewish Welfare Soc. building, the Knights of Columbus clubroom, and the Red Cross house. Reel 7, soldiers and visitors picnic on a weekend. Negro troops march, sing, and dance. Troops return from a march.
