On 11/22/2022 I called Cigna to disenroll from their drug program. I did not receive their disenroll form till 12/3/2022. So I called them again - saying I wanted disenrolled - on 12/3/2022. On the back of their form it says I can disenroll by calling Medicare, which I did. I also filled out their form and mailed it on 12/4/2022. Cigna says - in their numerous letters to me - "On 12/12/2022 we received your Disenrollment Form signed/dated 12/03/2022 vail mail. Medicare and Cigna keep passing the BUCK back and forth and $57.80 a month keeps being stolen from the SS that I am getting from my deceased wife. Works great 🤣

  ugh, what a pain! I have come across this before. Dealing with the bureaucracy of Medicare can be a frustrating process. Since this started last December, it seems to me that you would have 3 primary options: 1) you can file a complaint with Medicare. If successful, the plan will usually be retroactively cancelled, and the premiums paid will be refunded. (PLEASE NOTE: if you opt for this, and claims were paid, they may be asked to be reimbursed). It may be possible that the cancellation will not be retroactive. If you opt for this route, be sure to get clarification from Medicare on what will happen next. https://www.medicare.gov/my/medicare-complaint 2) If you qualify for an SEP (Special Election Period), the plan can be cancelled, or changed effective the 1st of next month.     Thanks for the reply. Long ago filled a fraud claim with the fraud division of medicare - they never did get back with me. The system is broke and I do not want to have anything to do with it. Dropped medicare part b without any problems and yes, this fraud on cigna and medicares part will go away this year - hopefully - when I am due to start SS.
