If you conclude, wrongly, that Prabhupäda converted his eleven rittviks into diksä-gurus in that equivocal room conversation with three of his leaders, what was the result of such a so-called conversion? Answer: The devastation of his branch of the Hare Krsna movement of Krsna consciousness less than a half year later.

If you come to such a mal-interpretation (that the rittviks were converted into gurus), then Prabhupäda would be responsible for what he (through the back door, so to speak) allegedly ordered in the third week of October, 1977. However, he did not authorize such a conversion, and you cannot pin the zonal äcärya debacle on him.
