How Should a Man Treat His Wife?

Over the centuries many cultures have arisen in which wives have not always been treated with the respect and honour they were to show to their husbands. This has led to many sad relationships and in some cases tragedy where wives have been badly treated, and have not been viewed as making a contribution of equal value to the husband in the marriage. Even some large religions have fostered the view that wives are of lesser value than their husbands.

Many are familiar with the biblical command that a wife must have respect for her husband. What instruction does the Bible give concerning how a husband is to treat his wife?
