This is a loose sketch of Fortnum and Mason in London. In this easy tutorial, I'll talk you through my loose sketching techniques for urban sketching and urban sketchers!

Fortnum and Mason always feels very Christmassy to me, which is why I've chosen to release this video today - now I know the sketch isn't super Christmass-y BUT it's important to keep your sketching and creative motivations in mind if you're looking to keep that creative spark alive.

In this easy tutorial, I'll take you step by step through my sketching techniques, in my fun and loose style that I love using for my urban sketching. This gives us a really interesting semi-abstract image - something recognisable though certainly not figurative.

For me, sketching with ink and watercolours, is just as much about celebrating the watercolour paints and what they can (and want) to do as it is about sketching an exact location or scene.
