Texas police chase stolen semi with 18 people plus driver crammed in the cab

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) released dash cam and body cam video from a stolen semi truck pursuit that ended with the discovery of eighteen people inside the cab of the truck.

The incident occurred June 17, 2023, in a LaSalle County, Texas.

Texas DPS says that a suspect in a stolen tractor trailer led troopers on a “high-speed” chase on IH-35.

The pursuit continued into a neighborhood, where the truck knocked over stop signs and an electrical post.

After the driver stopped the truck and fled on foot, troopers found “18 illegal immigrants … crammed inside the cabin of the truck.”

The driver has not yet been located by police.
