Ground Proximity Warning | Terrain Database Update | Helicopter

In this 6 minute video we look at how to update the terrain database for the Honeywell EGPWS MK XXI ground proximity warning system installed on many aircraft. This video shows how to complete the update on an Airbus EC135 helicopter. The main thing to remember is that you have to wait nearly 30 minutes with the aircraft avionics power on while the EGPWS re-validates the new data on the new card. You will not see anything or hear anything happening during this time. You will know that the update has been validated when press the "self-test" button in the cockpit and you hear "EGPWS system okay..." in the headset.
