Knife Spine Metal Etching with salt water and a 12 volt battery charger. We use a craft vinyl cutting machine to cut out the self adhesive vinyl stencils for the metal etching. This how-to video details how the art is created and or imported into the Cameo Silhouette program and then cut into very detailed stencils. We then use a 12 volt automotive battery charted and a little salt water to etch all areas not protected or covered by the vinyl. The knife spine was etched with a 3d chain links but knife makers can use the same technique can be used to etch almost any pattern.
