Stabbing Incident at Sacramento Hotel Leaves Two Victims Injured

SACRAMENTO, CA - In the late hours of Sunday night, units from the Sacramento Police Department and the Sacramento Fire Department swiftly responded to distress calls reporting a stabbing incident at the Sure Stay Plus by Best Western hotel, situated at 1900 Canterbury Rd, Sacramento. The incident occurred shortly after 11:00 p.m.

According to initial radio reports, officers arrived at the scene and discovered a female victim who had sustained at least one stab wound to the upper back.

The Sacramento Police Department issued a prepared statement shedding some light on the situation. The statement reads: "On 6/18/23 at approximately 11:01 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of Canterbury Rd regarding a report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers located one victim with a non-life-threatening stab wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital. A second victim was also located at an area hospital with a non-life-threatening stab wound. This remains an active investigation and we do not have any further to release at this time."

Law enforcement officials are actively investigating the incident, employing all available resources to gather crucial evidence and determine the circumstances leading up to the attack.

As of now, the condition of the injured individuals has not been publicly released. However, both victims' injuries have been reported as non-life-threatening, indicating that they are expected to recover.

The area surrounding the Sure Stay Plus by Best Western Hotel had been cordoned off to facilitate the investigation. Officers and CSI meticulously examined the crime scene, spoke to potential witnesses, and gathered any available surveillance footage that could assist in identifying the perpetrator or perpetrators responsible for this violent act.
