THE SLIPPERY SLOPE OF UNBELIEF

In the early years of our developing ministry, the Holy Spirit begins to teach us about deliverance from evil spirits. In one church I ministered in, I encountered a young woman with several evil spirits troubling and binding her. When we came to the conclusion, which was deliverance, I asked her a question. How did that thing come upon you?
She said; as I sat in church and listened to the preacher, I started doubting what he said was true. Because of doubt, it opened her mind and her spirit to the process that happens when bondage takes place.
It seems to be a celebrated thing when someone is called a critic. I believe the educational system refers to it as critical thinking. That evil spirit invaded our schools and universities 100 years ago as a virus from the communist countries in Europe. The main goal of critical thinking is to tear down everything that is in place in society, including our faith in God.
What was the first thing the serpent in the garden challenged Eve with us if it was not critical thinking? Didn't he say to her, "Has not God said?"
That challenge alone opened room for doubt concerning the consistent and faithful, caring, and loving of our Father in Heaven.
Two in the New Testament reflect the results of questioning God. They both ask almost the same question, but obviously, something in their heart brought different results.
Mary. The mother of Jesus said, how can these things be, seeing I have not known a man?
Zachariah, the Father of John, questioned God about his wife Elizabeth being pregnant with the child, and he was not allowed to speak for nine months.
I conclude by these examples that our heart and attitude toward our Father are the key to all of our questioning.
Don't be a critic. Be a searcher for wisdom. Don't be afraid to ask questions, but keep your heart, loving the Lord and trusting his faithfulness.
