Parents’ Responsibilities to their Children
Text: 1 Corinthians 12

Objective: that the brethren be responsible parents and produce
and support their children into doing the Lord’s work

Intro:
Define – Lay Up, responsibillity
Verses: parent/s

What, (Why and How) do Parents need to Lay up for their children?
1. Devotion and Glory in the Lord and His Work – vv.1-6
a. Lead by visions from the Lord – this is not given to unworthy parents; strive to be outstanding parents
b. Because it will cause them to do the same
c. Be the example of a devoted and excited servant to the Lord
2. Endurance
a. In Hardships – vv. 7-10
b. In Indifference – vv. 11-13
c. Because it will prepare them for hardships they will likely face
d. Endure the hardships that come along with life and ministry
3. Provisions – vv.14-19
a. Because this is expected of good parents
b. Work hard, work smart and prosper
Message/conclusion:

Be responsible parents and produce and support
your children into doing the Lord’s work
