ANALYZE THIS IRISHMAN

This short silly mash of "The Irishman" & "Analyze This" movies includes my short scene with Robert DeNiro in Scorsese's "The Irishman."

If you enjoy a good story about perseverance & succeeding by never giving up on your dreams then my story here is a true Hollywood story you'll love - not the phony Hollywood PR about Lana Turner being discovered at Schwab's Drug Store while sipping an egg cream at the counter.

Before the Irishman I had over a decade as a comedian. I had successes but nothing so big that it ever moved my career into the major leagues - for long. I'd take every opportunity presented, but extra work.

When your first start out its a good way to get stick your toe into the business, but one learns quickly its not the way to go - long hours, shit pay, and no guarantee you'll get in the flick, but I figured - given the state of my career - it couldn't hurt for me to show up and watch the MASTERS work - Scorsese, DeNiro, Pacino, Pesce, Keitel, etc - and maybe learn a thing or two.

Anyways DeNiro & Bobby Cannavale were the only 2 well know actors in this scene - plus 45 extras.

Talk about a fairy tale of a Hollywood story - as they were setting the cameras up at 6am the Assistant Director approached and informed me they'd like me to do the scene with "Bob."

He introduced me "Excuse me Bob this is Johnny T. He'll be doing the scene with you." DeNiro, always DeNiro, a man of few words shook my hand, said "Hey how ya' doin?" and that was all he said to me for the next 6 hrs - LOL - as we shot that scene about 22 times from every angle.

After the first take Scorsese ran up as excited as a kid on Christmas and said, "I love how you guys did the shots! I want that from every angle so I can cut it in!" Thats when I knew I was in. Talk about cool on the outside and nervous as a little bitch on the inside!

I went from nobody extra to principal alongside DeNiro's, earned my SAG Union card, got a credit in the movie as JOHNNY T. SOLLITTO, and went from $160 for the day to $1,200.

Moral of the story - NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS! Because you never know where the break will come from - PERSEVERANCE dreamers!
