Prospects are looking good for the coal industry,
with productivity increasing despite the recession,
"as well as plenty of youngsters embarking on a
career in coalmining." The National Mining Museum
at Lound Hall, near Retford, provides training to
aspiring miners, as well as exhibiting a wide range
of mining artefacts to the public. There's also time
for a sunny visit to Beamish Open Air Museum in
County Durham in this issue of the monthly mining
cinemagazine.
