I recently purchased the Primary Arms SLX 1-6x24mm FFP Rifle Scope with the Illuminated ACSS-Raptor-5.56/.308 reticle and I must say, I am blown away by its performance.
For a price point of $400, it is highly unlikely that you will find a scope that is as versatile and functional as this one. At 1x magnification, this scope works as a red dot sight, making it very useful on bright days.
However, with the same hold-overs, you can turn it up to 6x magnification due to its first focal plane design. One of the standout features of this scope has to be its excellent eye relief at 1x power.
Additionally, it is very easy to shoot with both eyes open, making it great for quick target acquisition. I do recommend adjusting the objective lens as instructed in the manual and then setting the lens cap at that spot to prevent it from getting lost.
For those looking to take this scope to the next level, I highly recommend getting an appropriate throw lever as well. Overall, this FFP 1x6 Scope is great!
I own one for my AK and another one for my Kel-Tec RDB 5.56/.223 rifle. The smaller reticle at 1x power acts as a red dot, while at 6x magnification, it can achieve accuracy as good as 1 MOA.
I created my own DOPE card and recorded my compensatory holds on the reticle. It is worth noting that my holds were different from those in the Owners Manual but I am still very pleased with the performance of this scope.
Finally, the Primary Arms SLX 1-6x24mm FFP Rifle Scope has held zero like a champ, even with my average marksmanship skills. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase.
