#mensmentalhealthawarenessmonth

It's the month of June, the start of summer, and it's Mens' Mental Health Awareness Month as well.
Since 1992, this month is to bring awareness about mental health problems in support of men,
Males have more trouble expressing their feelings, and seeking help.
They tend to go to the doctor less compared to women to speak about issues.
Men tend to live 5 years less than an average woman does.
Due to boys being taught to be tough and strong, this causes them to be quiter about expressing their feelings to others.
Other males make fun of other makes for not being tough, and girls will ignore those who aren't seen as the ideal good-looking strong guy.
They are at risk of abdominal aortic aneurysm, high blood pressure, colon cancer, depression, type 2 diabetes, lipid disorders, and STDs.
In the US, 30,000 men die each year from prostate cancer.
Suicide rates are higher for men than women.
Due to norms about masculinity, and downplaying symptoms, they will feel disconnected and isolate more.
This leads to smoking, drug usage, and drinking problems.

So this is the month to encourage males to not be afraid, come forward, and talk about your feelings and what you're going through to others you feel comfortable talking to about it.
For the ladies, show support for any guys who are going through a tough time, sit down, and talk to them and support them to make their life better.
