Gov. DeSantis says he is in 'good position' because he is only veteran running

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, (R): "I'm the only one that's ever worn the uniform that's running. I will be the first upon election. I'll be the first veteran of a war on active duty since elected president, since 1988 and I don't think we ever had a period that long in American history where we haven't had it. So I think the fact that we've been there, worn the uniform puts us in a good position to go in there on day one and command as Commander in -Chief and say, there's a new sheriff in town. We're getting rid of all the nonsense from the military. We're ripping it out and we are focusing on the mission and it's going to be based on your merit and your talent, and that's what we're going to do. We're not going to get involved in all the political stuff and I'll tell you what's going to happen. You're going to see more people want to join."
