U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and other Justice Department officials held a news conference Friday to announce the results of a civil rights investigation into the Minneapolis Police Department. The extensive DOJ review, sparked by the murder of George Floyd, found that Minneapolis police disproportionately target Black and Native American people in law enforcement activity and use unjustified force in many instances across the city.
