It's no secret that Layne Staley is an extremely high bar to try to reach when singing rock songs.

But it's even more challenging for it to be done by a girl!

I love the fact that most of the ladies at Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy are not afraid to take on songs that are their counterpart.

I've heard some people make comments such as "it's easier for a girl to sing this song because girls have higher range."

And while that may be true when it comes to range, it isn't true when it comes to girth or phatness of a sound.

It is much more difficult for a girl to have a big robust distorted rock sound than it is for a guy.

In addition, as in songs like this, we raise the key considerably to make it even more difficult than the original version.

So with that said, I present to you our latest and newest addition to the KTVA family: Nohely Cisneros.

Nohely hails from Carretero, Mexico.

Nohely has really only been speaking English for about one year now, but she has stepped up to the plate, and not only is she taking on these difficult songs, she is also learning how to sing them in English, as opposed to her native tongue of Spanish.

You will be hearing a lot more from Nohely in the coming months!
