4. Respiratory Hazards of Masks: Masking in Schools Continues- Update by Alison Despathy

While most schools have dropped school-wide mask policies, at least one school in Vermont has continued to require students and staff in specific classrooms to wear face masks again this year (2022-23) at the advice of their special education team. While schools are required to provide safe and appropriate special education accommodations in schools, masks are neither, as Megan Mansell explains.

First, Megan will be introduced by Alison Despathy, B.S., who is a clinical nutritionist, college teacher, and author from Vermont. Alison will explain the current status regarding the continuation of mask requirements for children and staff in at least one school in Vermont, and the unwillingness of administrators at any level to engage in a discussion, or acknowledge the lack of safety evidence.
