The Wahoo ELEMNT ROAM GPS Cycling/Bike Computer is an exceptional device that I highly recommend for cycling enthusiasts.
As someone who has been a loyal Wahoo fan since purchasing the ELEMNT BOLT in 2017, I was intrigued when I heard about the release of the ROAM and its impressive features.
Although there were some initial problems with the mount that caused delays in the release, I was finally able to get my hands on the device at the end of July 2019.
The packaging and contents of the ROAM are consistent with the BOLT, and it comes with the Aerohalterung, Vorbauhalterung, Kabelbinder, Micro-USB-Ladekabel, Sicherungsschraube, and a Schnellanleitung.
The inclusion of the Sicherungsschraube is especially helpful if you only have one bike and want to keep your device secure while charging. Setting up the ROAM was a breeze with the Wahoo app, just like with the BOLT.
One of the standout features of the ROAM is the color screen, which is extremely bright and easy to read even in direct sunlight.
Another great aspect is the battery life, which lasts up to 17 hours, meaning long cycling trips are easily manageable without worrying about the device running out of juice.
The ROAM is also equipped with turn-by-turn navigation and the ability to create routes either through the Wahoo app or by importing GPX files.
The Live Tracking feature, which allows friends and family to track your ride in real-time, is another standout feature that adds an extra layer of safety and convenience.
I also appreciate that the ROAM is compatible with a range of third-party apps, including Strava, TrainingPeaks, and Komoot, making it even more versatile.
One downside is the price point, which is higher than some other cycling computers on the market. However, given the numerous features and premium quality of the device, I think it is well worth the investment.
