[Transitional Times Poem Collection] -
‘Who Would Be Willing? Part 2 of 2 is a poem in which some of the challenges and differences in attitude and behaviour between being sovereign or slave are explored and aired.

‘Who Would Be Willing?’ is part 2 of the 2 part companion set with Part 1 called ‘Sovereign or Slave’ with both poems exploring more of the ideas shared in the poem “St. Raw Man –STRAWMAN VOID”

Written 4th June 2023, this creation falls into my 'Transitional Times' poem category which contains 'a variety of Motivational and Commentary poems exploring issues of the time'.

Poem wording -

Who Would Be Willing? Part 2 of 2

Bald statements
here now made …
A sovereign being is brave!
A slave is a misguided knave!

Which and where,
how and when?
Too much controversy.
not enough ‘Zen’?!

Well, let’s have a
little look …
shall we then?!
At ‘Slave’ versus ‘Sovereign’!

A slave lives on and in …
Through each and every paradigm

A sovereign goes within and
faces the challenges … and then,
that’s how paradigm shifts begin.

My guess is we’re each
already half were there!
No need for stress or worry.
Well, ok, maybe just a little hurry!
Just begin if you’ve not already begun.
Be each day as your sovereign one.

A slave may feel they just have …
to take it on the chin.
Go along … give in!
A sovereign will master the
actions they take, in any
and every situation!

One holds the light.
One takes fright.
I have both been … but
came out through that night!
You can be too …
It will give you both
work and delight!

Who would be willing
once knowing the difference,
to focus and give their
life more deference?

Who would be willing,
their ‘strawman’ to burn?
To rise up and out,
like a phoenix from
those ashes and urn?!

How do I know all of this?
Well it’s a lived experience.
I didn’t just ‘read all about it’!

But I heard, and reflected….
did research and inspected.
took responsibility and
then genuflected.

I find self ownership
much more ‘Zen’
than I expected!!

So which do you, now wish to be …
and why and when?
I just say this and ask this
to encourage you … to be
sovereign … not slave.
No knave … be brave.
