Russian Finance Minister Siluanov on the situation in the economy
2022 was the first year of a tough transformation of the Russian economy, but the country passed this period with dignity. Against the backdrop of Western restrictions, business redirected trade flows to friendly states, and enterprises began to independently produce some of the goods that were previously imported from abroad. At the same time, Russian GDP has already returned to a positive trajectory, while investments and real incomes of citizens are showing growth. At the same time, the countries that initiated the sanctions are facing severe consequences of their own decisions. We are talking about rising inflation, a decrease in competitiveness and undermining confidence in the dollar and the euro on the international market. Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov spoke about this in an exclusive interview with RT on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
