Amidst its ongoing economic crisis, Pakistan has expressed its desire to join the BRICS group, as the government seeks to alleviate the country's challenges. Speculations suggest that Pakistan may present its request for membership during the upcoming BRICS summit in South Africa, scheduled for August. The BRICS organization currently consists of India, China, Russia, Brazil, and South Africa.

In addition to Pakistan, 19 other countries, including Saudi Arabia and Iran, have expressed their interest in becoming members of BRICS. Discussions within the BRICS countries have also touched upon the possibility of expanding the organization by including more nations to enhance its strength. However, it is widely considered highly unlikely for Pakistan to secure a position within the BRICS group.
