GOP Sen. Katie Britt joins Mitch McConnell leadership Team-World-Wire

Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) has joined Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's (R-KY) leadership team as an informal adviser, a spokesman for the first-term senator told the Washington Examiner on Wednesday.

Speculation about Britt's involvement in leadership emerged on Monday when the freshman Republican was spotted entering McConnell's office for his weekly 5 p.m. strategy meeting with senior advisers. Britt, 41, served as chief of staff to her predecessor, GOP Sen. Richard Shelby, before her 2022 election victory.
