Snorkeling in Cold War Sub Base

Macqueripe Bay was used as a Us Navy submarine base from 1941-1977.The waters are relatively calm and clear with a greenish tint from the abundance of algae in the waters.There is also a variety of marine life in this small reef.Unfortunately there are no remnants from the days of the base.The area is also home to one of the first Ballistic Missile Early Warning System which was decommissioned in 1971.
