Nick Emmel graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, in 2004 with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education. After graduating, he moved to Minneapolis to be part of a full-time, nationally touring band. In 2007, Nick discontinued touring with his band and took the position of youth director at St. Charles Borromeo parish in St. Anthony, MN. He began teaching junior and senior religion in 2008 at Shanley High School in Fargo, ND, and practiced his first 4 years of teaching there. While at Shanley, he also advised the Teens for Life program and began leading pilgrimages to the annual March for Life in Washington D.C.

Nick is currently teaching sophomores (Old Testament and Morality), and seniors (Marriage and Family) at St. Mary’s Central High School. As advisor of the Saints for Life student organization, Nick started the Bismarck Diocese March for Life High School Pilgrimage in 2013 and has now led hundreds of North Dakota students to Washington D.C. for the March for Life. He completed his MA in Catholic Education and Catechesis in 2016 through the Maryvale Institute in Birmingham, England.

In this episode, Nick discusses the early ministry of Jesus and the disciples, the method in which Jesus taught, and modern examples of Christ’s teachings.
