I doubt a grill of this type could get much better, and included with it is a great waxed canvas bag to carry it in. I got the grill much hotter than I intended to, but it still didnt warp.
This was the largest camp grill of this style that I could find, and the only one that included a bag that wasnt the typical cheap nylon.
The bag has enough space to also throw a similar sized cutting board in with the grill, and once those items are out it doubles as a dump pouch with the belt loops sewn into the back.
It doesnt have a large amount of volume but it does have plenty to collect any fire tinder you might come across while walking in the woods. Well worth the money!!
I had an opportunity to try this out last night. I was able to fit two rib eye steaks on it and it worked excellent over an outdoor fire. The welds are strong and the larger size was very handy to cook on.
Decent heat applied and no warping. No sharp edges on this grill and after cleaning it was a cinch to load this back into the included canvas type holding bag and slip back into my pack.
Highly impressed by the Drix attention to detail and quality of manufacture. Worth every penny to me. I highly recommend this grill.
This grill grate is perfect for the bushcrafter/hiker looking for something small and lightweight to put in their pack for a trip into the woods. Being stainless steel, this grate will last a very long time.
The added canvas bag is very nice as well since it keeps your dirty grate separate from the rest of your gear. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a campfire grate that can fit 2 small pans or a couple nice size steaks!
This is a well designed, well made grill for backpacking, canoe trips or other outdoor activities where weight is a factor. Its size is perfect - not too big or too small.
If you want a larger cooking area, just buy another one.... DRIX uses thick diameter stainless steel that should hold up well. Additionally, the welds are much better than cheap imitations.
The fact that they provide a very durable sleeve to transport the grill is a great bonus. Im looking forward to years of use of this grill in times to come.
