I recently purchased the Kelty Grand Mesa Backpacking Tent and am very impressed with its performance. It comfortably fits one person and a large amount of gear, making it perfect for solo backpacking trips.
Additionally, I recently had the opportunity to use it with three people, and it still fit us all comfortably with room to spare. Despite its size, the tent was easy to set up and take down quickly.
During a particularly windy night with gusts up to 35 mph, I was pleasantly surprised that the tent held up so well. I did not feel any wind come through the tent at all, making for a peaceful nights sleep.
While the tent is a little on the heavy side, I find it worth it for the added comfort and durability. It is not an ultralight tent, but it is still compact enough to carry on a typical backpacking trip.
So far, I have only used the tent in moderate rain, but it has remained completely dry inside. The tent appears to be quite sturdy, and the seams seem to be durable enough to withstand extended use.
Overall, I am extremely happy with the Kelty Grand Mesa Backpacking Tent and feel that it is a great value for what it offers. I have taken it on six outings so far and have experienced zero issues.
