We hear so many people asking government to impose their preferences and priorities on everybody. Some people want government to force people to refer to transgenders with the preferred gender pronoun, some people want government to fine or arrest people for saying things that they disagree with, some people want government to force everybody to pay for something they think is important. Whatever the wish might be, it is one thing to wish for something to be a certain way. To go out and to actually make it happen yourself is another thing. Are people actually aware of what they’re advocating when they ask government to impose their preferences and ideas on other people, by way of force? An even bigger question would be – would they be willing to do it themselves?
