White House: Sen. Tuberville is threatening national security by holding DOD nominations

At a White House press conference Wednesday, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre accused Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) of putting America’s military readiness at risk by delaying around 250 Pentagon nominations. Sen. Tuberville said he is blocking the nominations in protest of the Department of Defense’s new policy to pay travel costs for service members seeking abortion or other reproductive health care. “They should not play politics with our military assistance, with our military readiness, and with our military family,” said Jean-Pierre.
