💫 Spotify Stock Analysis 2018/2019 - Is Spotify Stock A Buy 💫

Let’s talk about the upcoming Spotify IPO. Is Spotify a buy in 2018 and more specifically should we buy Spotify’s IPO?

*Quick Facts*

• Spotify is currently the world’s largest music streaming service and they make their money through paid subscriptions.
• They currently have 71 million paying subscribers (that pay up to $10 a month) and 159 monthly users.
• Spotify’s IPO is an unconventional IPO because there will be no underwriting and shares will be sold directly on the NYSE.
• The company’s total market valuation is meant to be around $20 billion.

*Positives of Buying Spotify*

• 71 million paying subscribers.
• 159 million total users (the world’s largest music streaming service).
• Spotify is a growing company. Paid subscribers increased by 46% from last year’s figures and active users are up by 29%.

*Negatives of Buying Spotify*

• Net loss of $1.5 billion.
• Meant to sell for a high price of $20 billion.
• Spotify’s main competition is Apple and Google.

*My Opinion and Prediction*

• I’m staying away from Spotify’s IPO. It’s way too risky for me to invest in a company losing that much money. Also, the upsides are not that big.
• My prediction: Spotify’s IPO will initially sell for a high price. The price will then decrease as time goes on.
