Generating Workday-Only Revenue Reports in Access

In this video, I demonstrate how to generate a report that only includes revenue from workdays, excluding holidays and weekends. This is a common request from clients who need to understand their business's productivity during regular business hours and days. We face two main challenges: first, we need to remove holidays from our data, and second, we need to isolate only the weekdays (Monday through Friday).

I've set up a query that includes our products and transactions, and I'll show you how to total the revenue by product name for one year only. We'll use the 'weekday' function to exclude Sundays and Saturdays, and we'll also exclude any dates that match with the holidays in our holiday table. By running this query, we can obtain revenue totals for each product, but only for workdays, giving us a more accurate view of our business's performance during these times.
