Bodycam video shows Orlando officer drive off after deputy pulls him over for speeding

An Orlando police officer has been accused of driving nearly 40 miles over the speed limit in a patrol SUV and then fleeing from a Seminole County sheriff’s deputy.

According to the Seminole County deputy's report, Orlando police officer Alexander Shaouni was going 80 mph in a 45 mph zone down Florida Avenue.

Deputies said body-worn camera footage shows Shaouni arguing with a Seminole County sheriff's deputy for pulling him over.

He allegedly refuses to hand over his driver's license and proceeds to drive away from the deputy.

“What? I am going into work, my man, why are you trying to pull me over as I’m going into work?” Shaouni is seen asking.

“Because you’re going 80 in a 45,” the deputy replied.

The deputy said he activated his vehicle’s emergency lights and siren and had to drive over 90 mph to catch Shaouni, but he still did not pull over immediately.

Shaouni is also accused of refusing to give the deputy his driver's license.

He was arrested on the charges of resisting an officer, reckless driving and fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officer with active sirens.

The Orlando Police Department says Shaouni was relieved of duty.
